about

“If you ask me to tell you anything about the nature of what lies beyond the phaneron… my answer is 'How should I know?'… I am not dismayed by ultimate mysteries… I can no more grasp what is behind such questions as my cat can understand what is behind the clatter I make while I type this paragraph.” - Martin Gardner, The Whys of a Philosophical Scrivener.

The 'Phaneron' is a term coined by Charles Sanders Pierce. The basic principle behind it is as follows: There is a reality that we each create, individually in our minds. This creation is a mere approximation of the true objective reality that exist outside our senses. The 'Phaneron' is the dividing line between those two points; our reality as it is created inside our minds, and that of true objective reality will always be on the other side of the phaneron.

With this, one might sit with the ideas that there is no definitive way to confirm that anything exists outside our minds, that our view of the world outside our central nervous system is only as good as the sensory inputs into it.

So is anything real at all?

This 'album' is a collection of tracks that I've had mastered mostly individually over the past few years. I've given these to a select few folks to play and share, but I've decided that I wanted to share these on a larger scale.

For those who've already heard, danced, and appreciated - I thank you so much for all the help and encouragement throughout the years.

For those who are just stumbling here - I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I've enjoyed creating. And if you don't enjoy it - that's fine too.
